Career Highlights
Coach Robert Williams is starting his 5th year as the Head Coach for the Carolina
Allstars. His experience as a former sprinter for the Aggies of Texas A&M has added
balance to the team for developing sprinters.
In 2007, Williams coached 400 meter freshmen Jocelyn Keen at Fuquay-Varina High
School. After witnessing the potential of Keen, Coach Williams invited her to join the
Allstars. Advising Keen to move up to 800 meters proved to be a wise decision as she
finished second in the USATF State Championship. One year later, his advice turned
golden after Keen won the USATF State Championship at 800 meters.
The phrase "like father, like son", now says "like father, like family" as the bloodline for
greatness in the Williams family extends to his three children. In 2007 his oldest son,
finished 8th in the state at 800 meters. In 2008 Robert Jr., won the 800 meters at the
USATF State, and Youth National Championship. Also in 2008, Coach Robert's daughter
Brittany, won the USATF State Championship at 200 meters. Most recently his
youngest son Brian advanced to the 2009 Regional Championship at 400 meters.
Coach Robert's favorite phrase, "leave it on the track".
