Allstars: Bound for Omaha Allstars Earn Four Silver, One Bronze at Regional Championship

At the end of a sweltering four day competition capped off by thunderstorms, the Carolina Allstars
Track and Field Team are ready to book their tickets to the midwest. On July 22-27, 2008,
Cameron Snellings, Latoya Wright, Jocelyn Keen and Robert Williams will travel to the USATF
National Junior Olympic Champioship to be held in Omaha, Nebraska.
On day two of the competition Jocelyn Keen and Robert Williams competed in the 800 meter run
finishing second and third respectively. Jocelyn ran a personal best time of 2:22.11. Robert
Williams was a double qualifier and the 800 meter run and 400 meter dash. He ran a personal best
time of 57.39 in the 400 meters.

The Carolina Allstars recently sent 13 athletes to Rock Hill, South Carolina to compete in the
USATF Region III Championship. (Region III includes athletes from NC, SC, VA, GA, MD, and DC).
The top five athletes from each state participated at the Regional Championship. The top three
athletes in the Region advance to the National Championship. "I feel that anyone who makes it this
far is a winner. It is a great accomplishment to say that you are the best in the state and the
region," says Coach Coleman.
