The Carolina Allstars put on a show in the jumping events at the USATF North Carolina
State meet on June 25 - 26. Sixteen Carolina Allstars qualified for the USATF Regionals
coming up in July. Twelve of the 16 are jumpers. The Allstars were able to take gold in
seven jumping events. Carolina Allstars coaches, Chris Coleman and Nichole Irving led the
jumpers. Both Coleman and Irving were nationally ranked during their high school and
college careers. "
The jumpers are really special to me since I was a jumper as well, " said
Coleman. "It is an honor to be their coach."

Joe Kindred won the State Championship in the high jump with an impressive jump of
6-feet, 10 inches. Kindred narrowly missed a big seven foot jump when his foot hit the bar
on his final attempt. He also won the long jump with a jump of 22 feet, 9 and half inches and
finished second in the triple jump.

finished second in the long and triple jump.

jump with a personal best performance of 18 feet, 4 1/2 inches. She also finished fifth in the
triple jump.

Joe Kindred, Amelia Black, and Monique Vines were also top finishers in NCHSAA State 4-A
Championship. Kindred was the 2005 MVP in the field events after he won the boys high
jump, and placed second in the long & triple jump. Amelia Black was the State Champion in
the triple jump. She also placed third in the high jump and third in the long jump. With one
more year to go Monique Vines finished second in the girls triple jump and fourth in the
long jump.

the bantam girls long jump with a leap of 12 feet 7 inches. She also qualified in 100 and
200 meters. Lia was able to regain her composure and finish fourth in 100 meters after
falling out of the blocks.
This girl is fast, says Coach Coleman. The 100m dash is to short of
a race to fall and still finish in the top five, she is really fast.
Reuben Malone won the midget
boys long jump with a jump of 16 feet 9 inches. He is currently a national leader with a
personal best of 17 feet, 11 inches. Malone has also qualified in 100 and 200 meter dashes.
